I work at a small newspaper where, up until now, all video telecon needs have been met by Skype with a webcam on top. But recently we've seen a need for running powerpoint presentations along with the video feed, and in that regard Skype just can't cut it.
So I've been looking for a replacement for Skype, and
Adobe Acrobat Connect Pro looks pretty good to me. It has the features that we need and seems fairly straightforward to use, even for non-IT savvy types. Of which we have some.
So can anyone tell me of their experiences with Adobe Connect or something similar? Is it even the right software I've singled out for scrutiny, or should I be looking at some other alternative? Perhaps even Open Source?
Full disclosure: We're basically a Windows house, so that's a practical limit right there. If the app was awesome enough, I could probably bully my way to a Linux server -- but the client absolutely must run on Win XP.
I'm in undiscovered country here, and I welcome your perspectives. PLSHLPTHX.
