old low-filesize MIDI ringtones?

My default ring on my phone is pretty lame. I don't like these new fancy full-mp3 ringtones, 'cause they don't remind me of a phone when they go off. I remember the internet used to be full of "polyphonic" ringtones when they were the hot new thing, but now with mp3 the internet seems to be rid of them. Does anyone know where on the great wide Internet I could find old MIDI/polyphonic ringtones of stuff? Maybe "covers" to popular songs, etc?

If you just google (Songname) MIDI you'll probably find a midi of the song. Then you can just use any old midi editing software to cut it down to the chorus. Problem solved!

Yeah, I would think there would be a number of them easily available for free. There are definitely apps out there to take an mp3 and convert it to midi. I do not know how well most of these work, but I do know that's how the poly ringtones sold commercially are usually made. If you're really desperate, you can go pay too much money to get one from any number of ringtones websites - usually $1.50 to $2 if you can find single sales, but most places like to get you into a $10/month subscription deal. If you really want to go for option #3 for some reason (like you're a mega-rich billionaire who doesn't mind way overpaying for stuff), I can point you at a few places, though.

boy it's tough to find a midi version of "ignition" remix by r. kelly that's faithful to the original melody

Yeah for video games you could always do www.vgmusic.com and cut down to ~15 seconds of a song you like.
