I'm looking for a Sharpie-esque font, but I don't want to pay $20 bucks for that crap.

Does anyone know where I can find a free verison?

I usually go to Blambot first. If you're looking for something that looks like quick, sloppy handwriting, Ashcan and Indie Star are good free fonts. Fold & Staple and Architext are good pay fonts.

There's also a nice font called Felt, which looks like it was written with marker. I have a shareware version of it, and I'd be happy to email it to you, if you wanted it.

I'm not too sure what OS you're using, but my Mac comes with a font titled: Marker Felt.

After a quick google search, you can find it Here. :)
