Double Dash Tournament?

I've got to be honest, the annual Double Dash tournament is one of favorite parts of PAX. Granted, I am slightly biased since I've won 2nd place the last three years, but I need another chance to claim 1st!

Sure, Mario Kart Wii is fun and all, but there's just something amazing about the teamwork involved that turns Double Dash into a really unique, and intense experience. Plus it has LAN, which works better than MK Wii's wifi.

So what do you guys think? I hope to see another Double Dash tournament (either in lieu, or addition to a MK Wii Tourney).

Yeah Double Dash really is unique, and probably would be better to have setup for a tournament rather then Mario Kart Wii. I'll enter it either way, but I didn't do so well last year, so I'd like another chance too lol. I'm only hoping for a Smash Bros. Brawl tourney. XD

DOWN WITH SSBB! DOWN WITH SSBB!

And to keep this post on topic...

I've never played Double Dash, but I've played some of the new Wii Kart. Its not bad, and I think it would be fun either way.

Ahh, nice! My SNES (and N64, in fact) didn't survive my move to California. =( I actually still have all my games, but I've got to track down a working system someday. =)

I've got my working N64, but alas no copy of Kart 64. Hmm... Time to look on e-bay!

I have my SNES still... even though I smashed part of it with a hammer (don't ask) and I loved super Mario Kart. Hm... I should bring it with me.

i've got an extra SNES taking up room in my closet . . . i'd ask you to make an offer but truth be told . . you'd be doing me a favor by taking it off my hands . . . i desperatly need the space. it's in the original box and has two original controllers that both work. . . . shoot me a pm and we can work something out

just make sure to keep an eye on when the tournament registrations are after the schedules are posted so you can get there early enough to register. That was a problem I've had a couple times before. And after some thought, I would probably prefer MK DD > MK Wii.

Actually, I was just thinking about it, and I've got MK64 on Virtual Console. So that means I have every game but the one on the GBA and Mario Kart Wii. /geek

i've got them all (each on their respective console, no virtual console) . . . so does that make me an uber geek?

How is MK64 on the virtual console? I was hesitant to get it because I really loved playing with those old N64 controllers. =)

Probably. :p I never had a N64 as a kid, though, so this is my only option.

Not too bad, considering. I use a wavebird when I play, which is much more comfortable to me than the old claw controller. Really, though, while still fun, I think MK64 was probably the weakest one in general--not the least because I'm still bitter about them adding rails to Rainbow Road in that one.
