I want to get a portable GPS to use in the car. I've been looking at online reviews and manufacturer sites, and I think I'm more confused now than before I started my search. For example, Garmin has a couple dozen different units. The tech specs on many of them seem identical, but there are price differences in the hundreds of dollars.
What brand do I want to go for? I've used a Garmin Nuvi and liked it. I have friends with Tomtoms and they like them. Who else is out there?
