So, my wife and I tend to travel back and from between her family in Georgia and our home in Florida and I've run accross a bit of an odd issue that I'm sure many of here have all run into. Our techno toys require some hauling...

While I've got the art of transportation down to a T, everything fits in a backpack and it's all hauled it in, from my Wife's DS, and laptop, to my Zune, our cell phones, and camera, and various power cords... So each device needs to be kept charged...

I was wondering if anyone knew of some kind of contraption which could be used to keep the power flowing to these oddball devices simple once you're at the destination... We're planning a few road trips (Maybe if gas prices stabalize) and something like this would be very handy...

I'm not trying to be an ass, I keep one in the bag and just haul it out with the adapters attached and plug it in.

APC had a line of travel bags with built-in power systems but they don't seem to be making them anymore.

It's too bad that standard power strips aren't exactly ideal for traveling (I used to have one sticking out of my laptop bag) but I recently discovered that there are some more portable solutions.

You could also do what I've been intending to do for a while; get a small, powered USB hub and USB rechargers for everything that'll take them. Then you can reduce it down to maybe just your laptop.
