[OOC] Warning: This thread will contain uncensored spoilers for the Keep on the Shadowfell Adventure for D&D 4E.

[OOC] The Purpose of this thread is to handle the narrative and combat for Shadowfell Keep. Dialogue and action, if it doesn't have a proper place using MapTool, goes here. Please put your dialogue in quotes so that it isn't confused with anything else. If you have questions, or any other thing to say outside the game itself, use the [OOC] thread. Do not post here unless you are doing or saying something. Feel free to yammer around the camp fire if I'm not around, so long as PCs are only interacting with each other, and not wandering off anywhere.

[OOC] I will post the narrative introduction in a short while.

It is a time of beginnings.

A century has gone by since the death of the human empire of Nerath, and the wonders of that age are now but legend. But after every harsh winter comes a spring, and the seeds of the future are sewn -- like dragons' teeth. You five grew up hearing of the mysterious past, and the more mysterious possibilities of the future, from an explorer named Douven. Under his guidance, and that of your trainers, you have proven to be scions of this new age, and the seductive fragrance of destiny pulls at your nostrils with all its promises. Douven recognized the taint of fate in you all, and has nurtured your curiosity and ambitions, promising you grand adventures that even he would not dare.

But Douven has gone missing.

His wife, a forgiving worrier, has come to you, who knew Douven so well, and asked you to return him to her. The last you heard, he had gone off toward a town called Winterhaven to investigate a dragon's grave, and so to the road you went.

The sun is high, here on the King's Road, and you are headed West.
