I was thinking of getting boxer briefs and was wondering if anyone has any opinions on them. I have kind of big legs so I will have to get a pair to see if they even fit decently at all but I am sick of boxers. They ride of too much and give me a bad wedgie.
Can I add in a little "some" to the start of Makershot's comment? I agree that a good pair of boxer briefs are superior to all other undergarments... but there's good ones and bad ones, depending on your comfort level.
For instance, I've found that haynes makes two core types of boxer briefs. One that has a visible elastic band and is longer (i.e. boxer-sized), and one that seems to not have a visible elastic band (it's hidden in the garment itself) but is much smaller (i.e. approaching briefs in size, but not quite) and made of a thicker material.
As a larger man, I've found that second size (I'll call them "tiny boxer briefs" versus "regular" for clarity) is extremely uncomfortable. I don't know if this is true for men of average build, but as a fat man the tiny ones feel more like uncomfortably thick briefs. The Regular variety is golden... it's comfortable and thin.
Hopefully this helps. When you shop for them, if you get haynes, beware the different types of boxer briefs.
Was it those stupid tiny ones? I hate those things. They have SEVERE scrunch problems, and they ride so low that it feels like they're falling down. At the same time. I bought a set of three of them... and though I don't wear them anymore because I hate them so much, I've been saving them for the right opportunity to set them alight on a sacrificial pyre.
If you're very undecisive regarding what type of boxers, just buy some cheapo Hanes at the mall and go with the type of boxers that you like. It's not a pricey decision.
Ouch, expensive undies those are. Is it the way they feel against your skin that you're paying for, or is it like some kind of custom fit/tailoring service that goes with it or something?
I accidentally bought a pack of this one brand of boxer briefs at Mervyns that were 2(x) brand or something like that. I swear the little dick flap on the front of these was designed by a woman because after wearing them for about five minutes my penis would inevitably be on the outside of the underwear. So yeah, don't buy those.
Ah! Someone used Amazon.com above to link to briefs, which let me find both of the types (standard and "tiny", which is apparently actually called "ComfortSoft Waistband") so I can link it to you.
I personally cannot stand boxer briefs. They feel so constricting! If you're experiencing wedgie issues, look into some soft cotton Y-fronts (not if you expect to get laid).
The one pair of boxer-briefs I tried, the legs just bunched up... I'm used to the freedom that Boxers bring too.
Boxer briefs are good for sports though. The lads must be kept in place.
Brand names aside, boxer briefs in my opinion are really the best choice. They've got the look and feel of boxers, but the support of briefs. It's win-win, really.

I've noticed the opposite, because boxer briefs are more along the lines of briefs themselves (tigher fit, with spandex waist and legbands), they tend not to bunch whereas boxers being the loose fit they are, bunch all sorts.
I personally have no problem with any, I just don't like my dong flapping around when I'm walking, because that's more annoying than a slight hug from properly fitted briefs/boxer briefs. As long as you don't get any form of breifs 3x's too small for you, you really don't have to worry about bunching and the "OMG TESTICLE PAIN" problem a lot of people complain about with brief style underwear.
tl;dr, I prefer boxer briefs.

I've switched over from boxers to boxer briefs (still have some boxers, but it's weighing on the boxer briefs side lately) after I discovered that the boxer briefs at GAP are very comfortable. The legs are large and the crotch is loose, so they generally feel like a boxer, but they stay put.
I got some hanes a while ago and they have smaller legs and tend to bunch up. I have some sports underwear too that's tight, but that's generally for longer bike rides. The GAP pairs are where it's at, IMO, and they often have sales. They're, oddly enough, not much more expensive than a decent pair at a dept store, either.
Maybe a slightly inappropriate thread to post in, but I like Boxer briefs on my man, they cling :winky:, and there's no male VPL. Pringle and YSL brands are good. I hate boxer shorts - baggy, horrid things, no definition.

there's basically no reason to wear regular boxers over briefs, unless you're only gonna wear em at home, or you live somewhere with no humidity round the year.
btw, i haven't tried it but i hear good things about no fly zone. Or at least Curb Your Enthusiasm says so.
awesome someone posted links to buy some underwear. i am those who are embarrassed to buy them at the store

I'd really like to get some boxer briefs that I like, but the only pairs I've ever had, stretch too much when I wear them. When freshly put on, they're great, because they're snug around my legs. After an hour or two, they loosen up and can start to bunch up.
I had the problem of the legs loosening up as the day went on. I was wearing larges, switched down to medium. The leg problem was gone, and they werent too tight in other places (just right actually), so I would try that.

Good advice. I had the same issue and went down one size last time I bought boxer briefs and it made a huge difference.
