iTunes playlist editing

So I'm trying out this couch-to-5k program to get into shape. It's a lot of interval type stuff; the first week is 60 seconds running, 90 seconds walking. I thought I'd make keeping track of this simpler by creating a playlist full of 60 and 90 second song clips, by iTunes doesn't seem to want to cooperate with me.

The closest I can get is setting start and end points for each song. This achieves what I'm looking for, but clips the song universally. I just want it clipped in the one playlist. Suggestions?

I came up with a bit of a workaround. Basically, I made a copy of each song, re-imported it to my library, and made the second version a clip. It's an inelegant solution though, because now I have two versions of each of these songs floating around.

    Any other suggestions?

Hmm... I'm not positive, but your workaround sounds like the best solution to me. What you'd want to do to avoid having the doubled-up entries when you're just listening to the whole list is make a list for non-clips and listen to that when you'd normally want to listen to your entire library. It's not elegant, but it'll do in a pinch.
