we are not trendys or chaves, so dont realy want any sports bars or club type places. or really goth type places. the kinda music we are into is mainly rock / ska type stuff. but anything goes.
we will be in t-shirts and jeans as teh gig is at the astoria and theer will be some jumping about
just some good old boozers, places for slightly alternative types,
any sagestions?

If you do this right, you will all be too fucked up to appreciate the gig in any capacity: can you not schedule more partying after the gig? Then you can start later.
I don't know about London pubs/clubs, but The Astoria is right next to Oxford Street, Leicester Square, Covent Garden and is right by Tottenham Court Road, so there's plenty to pick and choose from: you can probably just decide when you arrive.
That said, some Londoners will know some spots for you.

World's end is a good bar, but it's miles from where you want to be.
And depending on what date you go you might not be able to drink on the tube on the way to the gig! (Boris stops it on 1st June I think).
There's another one actually in the square at leicester square if you're round that way anyway. It's a spoons I think. They won't have a dress code, so, shirts and jeans.
