In the demo, I've had the cursor disappear after hitting escape and going back to the game. It reappears whenever I hit escape and the menu pops up again, but vanishes in the actual game. Frustrating.

Encountered this myself. Not game-breaking, but definitely frustrating.
I am getting the following error that is preventing the game from even opening:
Error
Shader system failed to initialize!
Make sure your displace device drivers are current.
I'm running a GeForce4 MX, which I have since discovered is incompatible with pixel shaders. Are there any work-arounds for this, or am I stuck between tearing apart my iMac and installing a new graphics card or never getting to play the game at all?

As I recall, the GeForce 4 MX falls below the minimum spec -- no pixel shaders on that line of cards. Unless I'm mistaking one variety of GF4 for another.
I'm playing on a Santa Rosa MacBook, doing fine to this point. I'm at a climactic point in battle, maybe two more attacks to go. I summon T. Kemper, and just as he begins his "attack", it freezes and quits. Thankfully, the autosaves will bring me back to just before the battle, but the moment is lost.
This may not be a platform specific bug. I was just looking for a place to share, and vent.
I'm about to start it up again. I'm really having fun with it.

Email support@hotheadgames.com if you got a crash dump in your ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter directory. I don't know if the game will write one out or if its a standard mac thing, but it might help them.
I was able to play through to the end though I've not found all of the art yet After my initial problems the game was stable. Maybe it just needed a reboot.

The GeForce 4 MX will run it on low settings on PC, but I suspect the Mac drivers aren't going to cut the mustard.
