Some sort of rib injury?

So i was out tubing with my friends on the lake today (we are a bunch of 17 year old boys so things get pretty insane). At one point I jumped a wake, caught about 10 feet of air, flew off, and then slammed into the water. I got the wind knocked out of me and felt a popping in my chest. Now my lower right rib looks like it has a dent it it and feels separated when I poke around.

The reason that I am not too concerned at this point is because i haven't felt any severe pain. I have broken bones before and this feels totally different, Its a very very very dull pain that almost feels like their is just a weight sitting on that point of my chest.

My father told me that it is a "floating rib" and that I should just wait to have it looked at until my physical next week. I dont plan on doing anything physical that could possibly damage it more until then, so is it okay if i wait? Or do I have an entirely different rib related problem.

I'm pretty sure there isn't much treatment for a broken/cracked rib anyway so you probably won't do too much damage leaving it alone. Obviously don't mess with or do anything that could damage it further and talk with the doctor.
