So we've talked about other childhood interests here
But along with Greek Myths and Dinosaurs
Who else had a kick about UFO stories?
Reading about Area 51 and Project:Bluebook
Absolutely believing the ludicrous first hand accounts of abductions
Though I made this partly from nostalgia
We can also talk about more sober modern day enthusiasm for life on other planets
Like Martian Bacteria
Isn't Martian Bacteria awesome!

can't even begin to remember all the awesomely creepy stories. ripley's believe it or not, skinny hardcover books from the library, horrible hubcap fakery

He's turn the lights off and sit with us in the dark and impart to us the vast knowledge he'd stored in his head from years of fascinated research

I was pedalling misinformation from a very young age.
Its one of those movies that just draws you in with the story and detail and then before you know it its 2 hours later and you're terrified.
Aliens was on today, which is just a completely different type of awesome.
I might try to hunt it down.
They did a similar one about ghosts
In both they had a hotline to call if you had an experience
I loved how for the alien one, the announcer said
"Call this number if you have personally had a close encounter of the third kind
NOT IF YOU'VE SEEN THE MOVIE"

Both amazing movies.
Of course, I look back now, and remember that it was really windy outside and lots of leaves were blowing around.
One was called Alien Planet, and I think it was on Discovery
The other was called something like Extraterrestrial Expedition or somesuch and was on National Geographic
They were both pretty good, and took different approaches to what might be out there
I still remember one of them had some very nice designs for primitive intelligent life, like weird giant floating squids crossed with fungus or something. I remember thinking "wow, that actually looks pretty alien, nice job documentary guys"

I'm not really too convinced about it now, but some of the stuff I've heard about the USS FDR in the 50's makes me believe there is something going on that we still don't know about.

where the kid thinks he's being abducted and has a tracking bug in his neck
and then they find that piece of metal in his neck and House is all "The lab says the metals are non-terrestrial"
and everyone is like "really?" and he's like "no stupid it's titanium".
House is so cool.
I listen to that when I drive home from class at night
Last week was a bit disappointing though since it was a lot of political talk
