Downloading acoustic covers: where?

I keep hearing these great acoustic versions of songs, and I want to download them bad. However, I can't find them via itunes or anything else. I'm 100% sure I could get them from limewire or something, but I'm unsure of the legalities of downloading those sorts of things since they are unreleased songs. Any ideas on where I can get something like that?

-B Sides on singles (check fan websites for the group, buy at amazon, ebay, or a good used record store)
-bootlegs (again, good used record store)
-greatest hits/boxed sets (if you are lucky)
-Call up the radio station(I assume by "I keep hearing" you meant on the radio) and ask where the song came from. In fact, they might have been recorded by the radio station itself, who might sell a compilation disc
-A lot of websites do exclusive performances. Check for those
-They might be a cover by another band.
List a few that you are looking for, depending on the genre I might know where they came from.

Me either. I couldn't even find a used copy, so I just torrented it. Probably send them a dollar.
