    well, i don't use the 12 gauges unless i've been wearring earrings for a few weeks, because i did that once, and fucking ouch.

    normally when i want to wear earrings now its to wear a pair of diamond/pearl/other gem earrings because i am dressing up to go somewhere.

    though all this talk has made me want to start wearing earrings again, i'll probably go buy a pair of 20 gauge tomorrow and reopen my ears

    I figured this would be the place to let you guys know that I know a person who has a tattoo of Cloud Strife on one leg and Sephiroth on the other.

    yea, i also have developed the habit of pinching and rubbing my earlobes periodically throughout the day to avoid getting those strange bumps that often form when you have had piercings in your lobes, because you can't puncture through those, it causes infection.

    so its generally just a matter of pushing through a bit of skin in the middle of the hole, feels like getting snapped with a rubber band, but its not that bad

    I have 8mm plugs in my earlobes, a ball ring in my left upper ear, a treble clef tattoo on my chest and this on my right shoulder blade

    I have no piercings and I'm shamefully skinny and pasty so I don't want to get a tattoo, I wouldn't like to show it off. I'd have to get something really nerdy if I was going to get one as well, perhaps an ascii tattoo or some scenario in nethack.

    I didn't play with it at all while it was sore.
    Too afraid of getting it infected.
    But once it healed up, I could not stop chewing on the thing, and I must have popped the ball out at least twice a day.

    I don't have any tattoos or piercings yet but I am planning at some point to get a big ol' tattoo of Nyarlathotep on my left shoulder, and then probably some other tattoos I haven't thought of yet as well. And I regularly consider getting my lip or eyebrow pierced, but I've never gone through with it.

    I just got my lip re-pierced and that's pretty much what I do all day. I got it as a stud, though, and I'm not sure if like it. Maybe I'll switch back to a ring when it's finished healing.

    The woman who pierced my lip first used a stud, but the stud was too small and the flanged end actually went inside my lip.
    When I went back, another dude was like "holy shit, this is way too deep. If you had waited any longer, we would have had to cut it out."

    I then went to ring.
