Really Poor Streaming from NBC.com

I'm staying at this persons house this summer, and streaming NBC video is really low quality.

So I ran SpeedTest and got

734kb/s down
119kb/s up
29ms ping

I assume that this would be good enough to stream even full screen.

Im running a MacBook, and the streams are slow under both windows and OSX.


Any ideas as to what could be slowing this down?

    thats crappy speeds. What kind of connection does he have?

    I'm not terribly sure, haven't asked.

    If those are shitty speeds though, then that makes sense

    thats less then 1mb down, which is the slowest dsl service at&t offers.
