So why does soda always taste better out of a glass bottle?
A lot of the time sodas in a glass bottle are made with sugar instead of corn syrup.
And corn syrup is total bullshit. Lousy farmers.
I think that's just mexican soda. Isn't it?
I don't really know, my friends were drinking some glass bottle cokes and saying how much better it was because it was mexican and they use real sugar.

Yeah, in a lot of Mexican restaurants, you can get Mexican Coke, which still uses cane sugar.
Also, there are small soda companies that use cane sugar, and they taste way better than coke or pepsi, though they're kind of expensive.
Doesn't Passover coca-cola use pure cane sugar so it's kosher, or something? I remember reading about a coke thats only around on the holidays and is supposedly several degrees of magnitude more delicious.

Yeah, I've heard of that. Certain grains aren't kosher during Passover, so Coke makes a version with cane sugar.
I don't think it's very widely available, though.

If I remember right, real sugar sodas are more expensive because real sugar is more expensive than corn syrup because of tariffs on incoming sugar cane and such, in order to promote our country's corn farmers.

But they're so much tastier.
Also isn't corn syrup way worse for you then more natural sweeteners?

Most all foreign sodas use sugar instead of corn syrup, because corn syrup is government subsidized in the US. A lot of the time the sodas in glass bottles that you see in the States are actually from another country or they use an older reciepe instead. This isn't 100%, though, because I know you can get a sugar cane Dr. Pepper and a corn syrup Dr. Pepper and they both come in glass bottles. The same with Coke.

Is RC Cola one of those? I've only had it a couple times, but I remember liking it even more than Coke.
A deli around here sells 2-liters of it, I was thinking about getting some.
RC is the best plain 'ol cola around
I think it has higher caffeine too though. So that could just be addiction talking. I can't keep it in the house because I'll drink a 12 pack in a few days.
Also yeah there is like 1 bottler in texas or something that still makes sugar cane dr. pepper. Never had it but it sounds like it would fit the flavor well.
The problem with mexican version sodas most of the time is that yeah, they use cane sugar but they use a hell of a lot of it. The flavor is better but they're way sweeter than their us counterparts.

Dr. Pepper is a startlingly good soda
You think you're not going to like and then wham, it tastes great

Dr.Pepper is the best
For a long time all of my friends were hideously addicted to it, and when we would be hanging out we would go through about as much DP as regular college students would beer

Holy shit, PI.
I love you so much. I'm getting paid to help someone move today and instead of buying weed / food I'm just gonna order a big fuckin' case of Dr. Pepper.
Didn't they keep that stuff around like 8-9 years after the movie tie-in?

Anyone ever had Switch? It might be local to Virginia, but it's really fuckin' good. It's one of those natural hippy type sodas but man is it ever delicious.

is there any actual reason as to why our canadian drinks lack caffeine most of the time
because that's so annoying
That sounds like the opposite of annoying.
My insomnia doctor doesn't let me drink caffeine after five or so, so I can only have root beer or sprite at night.
It's not so bad, because root beer is the best drink ever. Still annoying to have to avoid most sodas if I go out at night.
Unless you're saying that they only sell diet sodas in Canada, because those are all terrible.
Yeah, I stopped drinking soda primarily because of the caffeine, not the sugar. Hell, if I could get my hands on a caffeine-free Dr. Pepper I could stop eating so much candy.
Didn't they keep that stuff around like 8-9 years after the movie tie-in?
Well, I'm pretty sure the cartoon show kept it going, but yeah.
It was the best drink ever. Had slimer on it, and it was green. Like slime.
I think, that or the straw was green.
It was yellow with slimer on it, I think.
I remember reading an article about this dude who went into a shitty general store in the middle of nowhere in like 2000 and they had a big box of ecto coolers from 1989.

There is almost no reason to ever stray from your basic cola/lemonlime/orange trifecta.

Oh, also, if any of you are in Los Angeles, there's this shop called Galco's that sells classic candy, and soda in glass bottles, and kick ass sandwiches and if you don't know about it already, NOW YOU KNOW.

Fuck yes.
Crystal Pepsi is clearly the superior Pepsi spin-off.

I swear.

edit: it's "Undercover Orange", lemon-lime with mandarin orange flavor
