i really like the flowers but i'm not a fan of the darker brush strokes that go outside of your black outlines. I wouldn't be able to tell you anything useful about charcoal.
i love the last water colout. it's great.
Your charcoal drawings are pretty good, however you should try using darker paper and adding the lights with white chalk to make them really pop dimensionally
Newsprint won't hold charcoal or chalk very well. Get some good Canson paper, preferably cold press. I'd try about a 50% tone until you get used to it.
I just did this today for the cover of a paper I'm writing for my physics class about time and entropy.
My first time using a brush pen, they are awesome.
Yeah, brush pens are great. For some reason, though, the ones I got all got fuzzy and worn down within like two days so i just switched to brush and ink. Which brand are you using?

That's a great suggestion. Seeing stuff like this really makes me want to grab some paper and draw. Alas, I'm stuck at work right now.

that's pretty cool, man. No particular crits, other than some of your shading in the ink makes rounded objects (the egg, parts of the watch, etc) appear a bit flat, but I really like the scheme and layout.
only thing I might add is to make the first panels rigidly structured, perfectly straight lines with panels perfectly spaced apart, and then degrade the layout slowly so that by the end you've got non-parallel lines and varying-width gutters and such, to subtly add to the entropy theme. But otherwise, I think it's a solid piece.

It needs an awesome punchline to balance out all that.......science.
Ranken - Thanks a lot. About the panels, this was due the next day and I only had a few hours to write the paper (6 pages) and do this, so I didn't have time to make the panels as neat as I would have liked to.
Mustang - Yeah, I wasn't sure how to end it.
I just did this now, Yeats quote. This is bigger than it looks.
I need some feedback on this one, I don't know if it looks terrible, or alright, or what. It's the Karmapa, a leader in Tibetan Buddhism.
Thanks.

homeboy gots a tiny head
it looks good, if a little flat, but his head is far too small. It's the same size as his hands. The thumb on his right hand (our left) looks odd, but his left hand (our right) looks great.
the lines used to shade the fabric draped over his shoulder are too straight, which gives the image a very flat feeling, but I like how lively they are
I made the hands large intentionally, but I guess I didn't make that obvious enough, you're right, it just looks like a mistake. Thanks for the heads up.

I just got one of those in the mail today, and they are awesome! I ordered a Japanese pentel one from ebay, and it's so damn fun to draw with.
