Puzzle Fighter

Is there any big puzzle fighter fans out there coming to PAX. I thought it would be cool to have a tournament, if PAX put it on great if not I think a bunch of us should see if we can't get something happening.

God, I was hoping someone would bring this up. ^_^ No one here at home can consistently beat me--there's lucky shots when I'm playing Dan, but that's it, and it's getting boring. I don't need a tournament, just having someone new to play is enough, but I'd probably join one anyway if it were there.

Speaking of, I only just started to look, so are there any DS games other than Mortal Kombat that have at least a clone of Puzzle Fighter in it? Preferably something I can find preowned?

I'm down, new people to play against is awesome. But how were you thinking of doing this? cause I dont think it will be put on by PAX.

I would love to get me some Puzzle Fighter action going on but which system? DS (aka the old GBA cart) or the newer PSP version? Me gots both systems but no games

If it's literal "Puzzle Fighter" I can only be in if I can find the GBA cart and some way to link, cause I don't have a PSP. The Ultimate Mortal Kombat clone is wireless on DS, I believe (and I've got a bid on a cheap copy on eBay as we speak).

If I can get a hold of a copy that I can do that in, or if there is an equivalent character in UMK DS, then you're on!

I dunno where you guys are staying but I am in the Roosevelt hotel I would bring my 360 if people were to play but MK is the posion of choice i will be there.

We're going to be in the Sheraton, and yea, the PS3 is too heavy for me to bring all the way from Georgia like that. I've got a bid in on a copy of MK (I figure what the hell, I don't have any old-school fighting games anymore and I miss old MK in addition to wanting PF for my DS) but it's got four or five days left, so no telling if I've got it yet or not. If I do, though, I'll let everyone know how it is once it gets here.

I had a chance to play the MK version yesterday and its basically the same but with no countdown timer and there are special moves. I'll definitely bring a copy with me.

Sounds awesome I will pick up a copy of the MK then as well....does the freeplay area have a SNES we might be able to get the original going.

I was starting to wonder the same thing with Dr. Mario, since I got Dr. Mario Online RX just last night and it has consumed my very soul. Also because I pwn bitches on Dr. Mario, as seen by the fact my online vs. record is 14-3 right now.

Yea I think UMK3 DS is the best option. We can play the Puzzle Fighter clone and also do some regular UMK3 fights too. And it will require just that one cart for both.

Okay, which one of you guys tried to snipe me on eBay? Thank god I spent too much for my phone; as soon as the outbid notice was emailed to me my hip started buzzing and I was able to log in and get a new bid in. Two to five days and I'll be able to let you guys know how it is.

My game came in today, and while it's... different... it seems like it will do. Specials are going to take some getting used to, but other than that it'll do. Also, seems like the bombs are a lot more common than in actual PF.
