The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
The best part was when it got ported to the PS2 wayyy later and ended up looking and sounding worse than the DC version; a point I routinely brought up among the DC haters at school.
that's an easy argument to win
point to any game on the PS2
then point to Skies of Arcadia
game over
I mean the game itself sucked dick but at least it was pretty
shit that game could come out now and the worst people might say is that the graphics are just okay
Wait, seriously, any PS2 game? So, like, God Of War 2?
One game that I think was underrated was Out Of This World. I think it just didn't really get the exposure it deserved. It was an absolutely brilliant puzzle/platformer. Short, but it avoided repetition and thus every moment was gold.
Out of this world was awesome. I also loved Flashback and Blackthorne. Then I played the ps1 sequel to Flashback but I cant for the life of me remember what it was called.

Defender every time I see you mention God of War my life becomes just a tiny bit less worth living. I swear to Christ you would work a reference to that game into an argument about abortion.
And yes, the argument would probably be impeccably well-reasoned and the reference both apt and valid, but this would only serve to make the prospect of a murder-suicide all the more tempting.

Dude, he asked about good-looking PS2 games. How the fuck can I not mention that game?
Besides, I think the series I officially harp on is Thief.
And on top of that, I've been mentioning Shenmue a lot lately. I think you have a sore spot for God Of War. Did Kratos murder your family?
I'm just saying that it is my understanding that anti-aliasing can be (and has been) implemented on the PS2.
oh I wasn't clear up there
it's there, I know that
it just isn't any good
So what do you think of the graphics in a game like Final Fantasy 10, or Resident Evil 4? Are they terrible? I've never noticed RE4 be anything but nice and smooth. And the anti-aliasing seemed fine in FF X. Gran Turismo 4, Rainbow 6, there's lots of games which aren't jagged messes.
FFX, to me, was like the graphics guys went to the design team and said "guys, guys, check this out: We can do a fade from one sequence to another!" and the design guys were like "THAT IS GOING IN EVERY CUTSCENE FOR EVERY TRANSITION!"

That's your own fault, then. Without any anti-aliasing, you should've seen them clearly coming from all the way across the dot matrix.
My car was in to be serviced at the time, and wouldn't you know it, I'd left the Ice Beam upgrade in the trunk.
So roll your parents through a concealed crack in the nearest cliffside and keep the metroids at bay with your Plasma Beam until the mechanic calls. Sometimes I think you wanted them to die.
Marathon at launch. Playin' it on my Macintosh when I was like six, fuck yeah
You are correct sir. I love infinity. Did you play Pathways to darkness?
Nope. But I remember hearing about it.
Can anyone remember a game like this: you played a secret service agent or something. It used a marathon-like engine, and the missions involved you in a big marble office building and a big green estate. It had lots of American flags and very-old school animations. I've been thinking about this game for over a decade and I can't remember the name.
I got it on a Mac demo disk years and years ago, I think.
I never liked Tales of Symphonia, ever. The characters were stupid, the dialogue was horrible, the voice-actors bugged the shit out of me (especially that 12 year old girl who was voicing that blonde angel chick), AND the battle system was too random to be any fun.
IMO, all of the 3D "Tales Of" games are crap. My favourite in the series was Tales of Destiny II on the PS1, but I blame that on my hard-on for sprites in RPGs. The battle system made WAY more sense in 2D.

I've played that at least 3 times through.
yes
a good example is Shadow of the Colossus
a game whose graphics everybody and their mom praised
but were hideous to me
don't get me wrong, the design and the art direction were breathtaking
but the models of anything that wasn't thirty stories tall were awful and the textures just meh
these in addition to the aforementioned lack of anti-aliasing combined to form a very underwhelming graphical experience

...That's Pony. He had an MMA career of some sort. I didn't.

Yes, Pony had the unlicensed MMA career.

if so, Timesplitters 2
My favorite FPS of all time.
And goddamnit I want to play TA
This was so awesomely gory. I loved that shit back in the day.
It's no Red Faction, though.
Teefs, i love you so much.

I was so pissed when I rented serious sam II and it didn't have co-op
I was all "well, fuck this noise"
I don't know if they've played anything else in the series, though
I can't rent PC games, though
