Donating Shit To Mythbusters

I tried looking at the mythbusters site and I can't find anything about this, so does...anyone know?

Basically, I have a car that I'm going to scrap. Its old as hell, barely runs and quite frankly, I'm done with it. I'm getting a new one, so the old one is useless to me.

The mechanic I had it at last has offered me 200 dollars for it and that seems pretty lame for all the memories I've had in the car. I've had it since I was...17-ish (I'm 21 now). Than I thought: "Wait, the Mythbusters use cars all the fucking time. Can I give it to them?"

I mean, my first thought was to do what they do in the Subaru commercial and find some cool spot in nature to bastardize with my Suzuki Sidekick...but I'd much rather see it on the discovery channel being rigged up with jet engines and sent into a wall.

So, does anyone know how to do this? Or is it even possible? I have the title and crap in my name, and I'm totally willing to turn it over.

If you're location is correct, I doubt they can use it. NC to CA is a bit far, afterall.

Due to the popularity of Mythbusters we have had to remove our phone number from the website. If you are a business and need to contact us, please do so by emailing jamie@m5industries.com Please email this address only if you have a serious business related inquiry. We will respond to your inquiry immediately by email or phone.

    ***ATTENTION MYTHBUSTERS AUDIENCE:

If you are a fan of the show and want to comment, email mythbusters@m5industries.com I read all emails but as a rule do not have time to respond. The show is world wide and there are too many fans to respond personally to. I am very interested in your feedback however, so please do email us; many of the shows we do are a result of these emails. Thank you for your interest, we appreciate the support.

    $200 for a non/barely-running junker sounds like a hell of a deal.

A few months ago maybe. I just had a shit ton of work done to it. New tires, brake-stuff, radio etc etc. The tires alone were worth $500 when I bought them.

As I said, I'd much rather see it blown up on television.

Don't they do mythbusting all over? I could've sworn there were a few episodes where they were on the East Coast....

If that's true, why not try to sell that shit as slightly used on eBay, or elsewhere? You sure the mechanic isn't trying to scam you?

Usually, when Mythbusters use a car, it's a particular model to match whatever car is in the myth. They probably wouldn't need your car to begin with.

There are a lot of local charities you can give your car to. I'm always hearing ads for a leukemia research foundation that takes car donations, and I think we've got a colitis foundation that takes them, too. And in the Dallas area, there's a group that takes cars, fixes them up, and gives them to impoverished teenagers so they can drive themselves to college. It's a tax write-off, and you get rid of your car, so it's worth looking into.

Salvage value, man. I'm actually surprised it's so low, given that the salvage value of my 1990 Honda Civic is $300.

They travel if they need to get to a certain location.

So unless you know of a myth where they need a car in the foothills of whatever mountain you are near, I wouldn't get your hopes up.
