OK, I have introduced her to Steam and gifted her Half Life 2 when she pointed out she liked it in a random conversation. She has also mentioned to me liking Neverwinter Nights, and the Baldur Gates series . . . Final Fantasy too.

She doesn't have the best computer, she has an eMachines W5233 which has:

Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.00GHz (2 CPUs)
1016MB RAM
Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family

I am thinking, maybe . . . Civilization IV.

Thoughts? I know that her video card is a piece, so another question: can you recommend a decent video card that's under $100 and will open up her possibilities ten-fold?

Planescape Torment. No argument. Dissenters will be shot.

If she's got a PCI-E slot go for a 8600 for under a 100 bucks...but I mean the 8800gt is only like 150 and it's more then double the power

She'd probably like Silent Storm. Strategy + RPG = Win!

Blade Runner is absolutely perfect for her unless that mystery comment wasn't about games in which case Planescape: Torment, Fallout + Fallout 2, and Arcanum are right up her alley.
