iChat
I recently got a great job in Wichita, Kansas. It's for a great company, I'm making great money, and it's doing what I want to do at this point in my life. Nothing could be better, except for the fact that every single one of my friends and my entire family live on the East Coast. I was considering getting a webcam and using Google Talk to do some video chatting with everyone, but some of them have Macs, and was wondering if iChat and Google Talk work together. From the looks of the Google FAQ, it looks like they do, but I just want to check.
Shaving
Now that I have my cushy engineering job, I'll probably need to look less like a broke college student who drinks a lot and more like a well-to-do young professional. I've come to grips with this, but there's still one hurdle. I absolutely hate shaving. It takes too long, I'm not good at it, it hurts my face, those blades are expensive...everything about it I detest. In the past I've been using the 4 blade and 5 blade razors I get free in the mail, and have always made sure my blades were in at least decent shape, but I still end up with horrendous razor burn. I figured one solution would be a nice electric razor. Anyone have any suggestions for this (brands/models/etc.), or any other solutions?
Movie editing software
I'm on a PC, and I'd like to pick up movie making/editing. Nothing fancy, just something to make some nice videos to go along with the songs I write. My first idea for a video is going to be a stop-motion of the drive out to Kansas (from New York). I have all the hardware worked out for the actual shooting, but for stitching the pictures together/throwing in some nice effects, what would people recommend? I'm running Windows XP on a fairly old laptop, so I'm not going to be running Final Cut Pro anytime soon, but I'd like something with a bit more options than Windows Movie Maker (if I'm mistaken in my idea that WMM isn't good, please correct me). I'm pretty used to the Adobe products, so would Audition be a wise choice? How is it in terms of ease of use/ intuitiveness? Any other software packages I should consider?
Thanks a lot.

Editing:
Uh, I think any sort of movie editing is going to eat up memory and other resources on your computer. At the very least, the rendering will take forever. So, I don't know how viable it is to actually edit stuff on your computer if it's pretty old and not too hi-tech.
but, you will need atleast a firewire port, preferably two. one for the camera, one for an external drive. your laptop drive will not be fast enough for video. plus, you never want to use a system disk as a scratch drive. video will trash your dive. there may be usb2 cameras around now, not sure. typically, usb2 is better for burst speed, while firewire is better for sustained throughput. more ram is better, but not as important as a good, fast harddrive.
as for software. there is, under accessories, windows movie maker. its not very good, but you probably already have it, and its free. you can look up traction. its mostly a trascoder. quicktime pro can do very very simple edits.
everything else goes up from there. premeire, avid express dv, sony vegas, all clock in around $500. past that, there are some very very very expensive suites out there.
you can download most adobe apps as demos, to atleast see if they will run on your system.
as for shaving, you're an engineer! beard up!
