Write Protection on an SD card.

Road BlockRoad Block Registered User regular
I recently acquired a second hand 2G Sandisk SD card. For some reason however when I try to place files on the card or attempt to format it. I get told to turn off Write protection. Now the switch is quite clearly in the correct position to allow me to use it as normal. In fact I have attempted placing the switch at multiple positions. I have tried the whole tape the switch thing. And Write protection remains on.

I have however managed to get one file on there. I copied a save of RE: Umbrella Chronically onto the SD card through my Wii. On the computer these files show up fine. I just can't put/remove stuff from it.

Is there any other possible solution?

Maybe your card reader is misbehaving. Mine occasionally claims a card is write protected, but for me unplugging/replugging fixes it. Tried a different reader?

You may be hosed. You can try formatting it, but failing that, go buy another 2GB card for $8
