DVI split / Y cable....help?

arcatharcath Registered User regular
Ok I guess I am looking for a DVI Y cable. Let me explain.

I run a 2 monitor setup on my PC. My main is a 24" WS, secondary is a 19".

I want to split the signal from the 24" to my 39" LCD about 15 feet away.

Yeah, I want to play TF2 ,WoW, and watch bluray from the bed. Sue me. :)

So basically I think I need a DVI-Y, and a 15 ft segment of cable.

Anyone know any good sites, links, prices, or other ways to accomplish this?

I believe you will find all your cable needs at www.monoprice.com
Best site for cables anywhere. Very cheap too.

also if that 24" and the 39" aren't the same resolution, you may have some problems.

I would avoid using a splitter cable on video signal, it may or may not work and you could potentially degrade your monitor inputs or your video card output trying to divide voltages and currents. I'd recommend getting an active splitter box. Do it right and protect your investment.

i have not found a splitter that can handle my 24" resolution. 1920x1200.

the max on that splitter is 1600x1200.

I was looking at that splitter and the DVI Y-cable, both are out of stock on monoprice.com

guess I will have to wait anyways.
