I've poked around Google a bit, but I haven't found anything yet, is there anywhere to download and print out the box art for DVD cases for used games picked up at Gamestop or the like?
Oh damn, thanks for that. I love thecoverproject.net but they didn't have a copy of the Jade Empire boxart. I've been looking for it forever, even considered swiping it from a used copy from GameStop... which is irritating, because I bought the stupid thing at that very GameStop when they didn't have any with boxart. -.-
Ugh, cdcovers.cc is terrible. All the boxarts are 72dpi, so they look like crap when they're printed. The Cover Project has everything at 300dpi (I think a handful may even be 600dpi: I know the Max Payne 2 (PC) covers are, because I made them).
CoverGalaxy.com has some nice 300-600dpi scans, too.
I love www.thecoverproject.net . It was previously mentioned and all but still. I created a few PS1, DVD sized custom covers for that place. (MGS VR Missions, FFIV, FFVII, Vagrant Story, Azure Dreams)
I'm most proud of my VR missions cover, even though I know there are a few fundamental mistakes, mostly on the back of it. Then I noticed some guy totally ripped it off and just changed the cover around. Then again I did that with some guy's FFVII cover so I can't complain.
I would probably still be designing covers if I hadn't come to the point at which I had DVD case covers for all of my PS1 games.
I'm still considering making a DVD case cover for PS3 games since I don't like the Bluray cases, but I'm just getting over it.
I made a shit-ton of PC covers for TheCoverProject, and a bunch of Dreamcast covers, too, under the name TheWarlock. Haven't done anything in a while, though, because, well, I boxed all my old jewel-case games so there wasn't much point anymore. Plus there was a little too much Forum Drama over the Dreamcast cover stuff.
I stumbled across this one the other day. www.vgboxart.com Has some neat customs. Dunno about printing size or whatnot however. They had a God Hand cover I really want to print eventually though.
I'm still having a problem with The Cover Project. Any time I try to download one of their covers, I end up with nothing....that is, a 0 KB jpeg that can't be viewed.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
You're not using FasterFox by any chance, are you?

I don't think so. TBH, I've never heard of it until now. If I have to search for it so it can be added into Firefox, then I'm sure I do not have it.

I had that problem with Opera the other day. I had to download the file again through Opera's download manager... but I don't know what the analogous solution would be in FF.
For the record, when you end up ina Fedex Kinkos or similar copy place, tell them you want their semi-gloss paper in a heavier stock, printed at the highest resolution in full color in 8 1/2 by 10 1/2 (maybe 10 and 3/4 if you can swing it).
You also have the rights under copyright laws to make one single copy of any cover you legally own for 'archival purchases'. If you get any guff from anagement, explain that to them, if they still give you guff just go somwhere else - or you could print off said copyright law and bring it to them.

You'd have trouble finding it: that "archival purposes" thing only applies to software. Stuff like covers falls under the more nebulous area of "fair use".

I may have to do this.
These are some awesome sites. Thanks, OP, for asking.
Been having some minor trouble downloading - it took me a couple tries to get the Super Metroid cover(s). Eventually worked, though.
e: hitting ''retransfer' seems to help, if you're using Opera.

I'm the opposite, I actually like the Bluray cases, and wouldn't mind my PS1-2/GCN/XBX collection using similar cases. But that would be a huge undertaking, so I won't bother.

Actually you beat me, I was going to point him here which links to the site you posted. Oh well.

If it helps, the one I specifically want is Link's Crossbow Training. The main one that's been downloaded 10000+ times.

It's like 6 mbs though, which is crazy.

Forum drama over custom Dreamcast covers?
