Ok, this one is annoying me a bit. I think I have a dying power supply, but I'm not entirely sure.
What's going on is when the computer is turned on, it will turn off sometime a few seconds to a few minutes later. When I re-start it, it'll go a little longer. Then a little longer. Eventually it gets to the point where it won't have an issue- as long as I leave it on. The moment it gets turned off, same issue reappears.
I sometimes have to remove power then reapply it to get it to boot, as well. But I've never had a balky component work better the longer its turned on!
Can you give us a little more background detail? It could be a whole slew of things. First reseat all the connections.
First try resetting CMOS(this is done via a jumper on the motherboard. The motherboards manual should have pretty detailed instructions how to do this).
Your third step is to, once the computer is up and running, run a program like prime95 that will stress the CPU. If your computer crashes or you get tons of errors then it MAY be your PSU but from your description it doesn't sound like it is.
edit: have you overclocked your CPU? This sounds like an incorrectly done overclock. If it is resetting CMOS will fix it
