MediaMonkey sounds like it'd do this task rather well but I wanted to check if there were any worthwhile alternatives before hand. Basically something that'll weed out duplicates and give my collection a nice directory structure is all I'd require, nothing too fancy otherwise.
MediaMonkey will certainly do the job, but there are no reason why you couldn't do the same with other tools. Personally, I'd go for Foobar2000 or Mp3Tag. Both programs supports pretty much the same syntax.
I use Foobar most of the time, and once you understand the title formatting syntax it's very easy to create presets to make the process of organizing your music as fast and painless as possible. For most files, I use the following:
