Well I'll be damned I think I may actually have said something useful for once. Can't say I think morning breath has ever been an issue in morning sex for me and as much as I like the idea of being woken up by a blow job by morning sex I meant waking up your SO first (especially if you're a guy otherwise it may be considered rape? I don't know :P). Seriously the morning sex thing works it puts my girlfriend in such a good mood she's able to forget how badly she wants a cigarette for a while.
The degree to which it would be rape is not changed whether or not it's a man or woman starting it.
No but the degree to which you would be completely fucked by the accusation is, anyway this is tangent.
I don't know for sure... but a couple friends of my wife had a baby in that kind of situation.
Jeez, I feel like a rumorizing ninny... but I guess none of you know who these people are so it's okay. They've been married for a few years, and apparently he's always, ALWAYS clamoring for sex. One night about three years ago he couldn't take it and she woke up to find that he was pretty much done. Their child is ~2 1/2 years old.
She's never called it rape (because she probably would've had sex with him if he'd have just woken her the fuck up first), but she would've definitely used a condom and she's definitely (and EXTREMELY understandably) been pissed ever since. The need to take care of the baby is pretty much what keeps them together. I don't know what I'd call it given that situation... but I wouldn't call it anything other than bad. I probably would call it rape. But indeed, if it went the other way I probably wouldn't. I can't exactly explain why I'd call it that in the man-on-woman situation and not vice versa. Perhaps just social stigma.
A guy whose female partner had sex with him while he was asleep, with some twisted intent to get pregnant(because he doesn't want kids etc), and then does so, is also, like your example, a very good reason for him to be furious.
And the fact that the result of your example was a kid doesn't factor into whether or not it was rape.
Put it this way if I said a woman had sex with me with out my consent unless I could prove she'd given me a mind altering substance without my knowledge I would be laughed out of court. If however my girlfriend said she was woken up one night by me having sex with her and she didn't agree to it I would be in some very serious shit indeed. The nature of the male sexual organ and the fact men are (mostly) stronger than women makes it difficult for them to rape us and this in turn affects attitudes towards the subject.
This is moot though I like to think my girlfriend wouldn't take me to court :P.

More difficult, yes. It's still absolutely possible for female to male rape to occur. You have a point that it's much less likely to be taken seriously, but if it's rape, it's still bad regardless.

Ah, I hadn't thought of that (the intent to get pregnant thing). That's a good point, I would call that rape too. Intent seems to make a difference in my mind in this situation. That's interesting.
EDIT: Weird. Yeah, the more I think about it... I think it's about that physical power thing.
What my gut tells me, when I really analyze it, is: (assuming the man and woman are a couple)
* Man has sex with woman while she's asleep (for procreation): Rape
* Man has sex with woman while she's asleep (to get off): Rape
* Woman has sex with man while he's asleep (for procreation): Rape
* Woman has sex with man while he's asleep (to get off): ... not rape?
Strangely enough, when I examine my gut reactions that seems to be what I get out of it. Very weird. That's definitely an odd contradiction. Sorry to digress a bit. Just found it to be interesting.

I think most people would agree with this, I think that its a curious double standard at best outright sexism at worst but that's just the way it is.
Every single post in this thread participated in carrying on a stupid, off topic conversation. Every single person making a post in this thread would be receiving an infraction were this not your warning.
This is the only warning I'm giving. The next time I split posts, I hand out cards.

It's a douchebag move, regardless of whether or not the R-word applies.
the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
