Can anyone recommend a non-trial format program that can extract music from an ipod? A friend of mine had his hard drive wiped and his ipod now houses all that remains of his music collection.
Hey... wait a second. Typically, I'd be pissed as hell that you have my avatar... and I am.
However, it's an honest question; Mono's information should be good, but if he has MP3s that he actually got from the iTunes store, he should be able to restore them from his iPod (I had a similar problem when the PC I built started smoking and died after about two years or so). Yes, Windows Explorer. :P
Make sure view hidden files/protected files is enabled. Then connect the Ipod and double click on the drive letter for the Ipod.
All the music is there in the folders.. I forget which one off the top off my head, but it will create several sub folders that the music will be indexed across.

He's looking into Mono's suggestion but has yet to get back to me.
