Watching the cutscenes in Wall-E, like most movie-based games is painful simply because how much they different from the actual film, but there's some genuinely cute moments stashed in there. Stuff like Wall-E finding the ring box like in the film, but in this case the ring box is heart shaped, and Wall-E attempts to offer it to Eve but she doesn't even notice him.
Then back in the truck one of the items he hands her is a wire coat hanger, which she bends into the shape of a flower while offscreen.
So my 360 copy of Wall-E arrived from Gamefly today. Now as far as I know there's three versions of the game. The DS version, the version for the PC/PS2 and the version for the Wii/360/PS3.
The 360 version is much, much different than the PC version I have, both in content, and controls. For example, on the PC version the "training level" actually takes place in the past, when all the Wall-E units are operational--it's like the robots themselves are being trained (for some reason). In the 360 version it takes place in the already-ruined era.
The PC version is also a bit more momentum-based, which is a clever idea, but can be frustrating at times. In the 360 version, Wall-E's "jump" is like 6 feet high, while in the PC version is does this sort of little "forward lunge" which makes a bit more sense considering the way he looks. To jump large distances in the PC version you have to go up a little half-pipe ramp to gather up momentum so that when you jump far enough to scale some gaps. Obviously due to Wall-E's higher jumping this isn't necessary, nor possible as far as I can tell.
Obviously the 360 has better graphics, but the PC version just looks like a really clean PS2 game.
And finally, the 360 has a neater presentation where everything from the loading screens to the game saving is branded with BNL logo. seeing a message pop up in the lower left hand saying "This autosave brought to you by Buy 'n Large" is a neat touch.
But I've only played about 10 minutes of the 360 version so I'm sure there's many more differences to come.
I ain't gonna front. It tugged at my heartstrings.
I'm such a sap for kids' movies. Adult dramas? Fuck that shit. Kids' movie tragedy? It'll get me every time.
And the thing is, I know it'll get resolved, that there will be a happy ending. But you put something adorable on the screen, and my logical, cynical side just shuts the fuck down.
You can get these at the Disney Store, if there are any left where you are. Apparently a bunch of their stores are closing, so I was pretty lucky to find these.
They remind me of old Disneyland attraction posters, which is a huge part of their charm, I think.
Plus, hey, cute robots!

I just kind of glanced at your post and saw the nouns and assumed, as I always do, that the nicest things in life are being offered to me

Pretty ok!
I've only got 12 days left at my job before I quit (or maybe eleven if I can get a day off on thursday like I want)
Just bought an awesome birthday gift for my lady and my kick ass noise canceling headphones should arrive tomorrow.
Pretty ok!

Oh fuck. Every time I'm in the Disney store I can't decide if I want to get those or not.
Edit: Fuck it. They're expensive at $40 a pop but I'm getting both.
At least they come already framed.
