Random Life-changing moments

We've all had those moments where a small thing -- which normally would not change anything -- ends up changing our lives in a major way.
I slept through a class 8 years ago and ended up having time to wander around campus, found a post about student trips abroad to Australia, applied, got accepted, moved there, met people, and moved to Seattle.
What would have happened if I had gone to class that day?
So what about you SE++?
What minor things rocked and altered your world?
What if I talked to that girl in college who was smoking in the quad. Wearing an Abbey Road T-shirt. I was also wearing mine and smoking as I walked by.
A trip to the US for a few months also opened my eyes to what I wanted and was doing wrong, I still made mistakes afterwards but it's mostly worked out okay.

i picked up my step dads guitar once 2 and a half years ago
i'd say really thats the only life changing decision ive ever made
This one isn't very interesting. Just year after year of long runs & marches on concrete, carrying heavy packs & guns and patrolling up mountains and jumping out of helicopters and diving through windows and-
ok well I guess the diving through windows was pretty badass.
If I hadn't randomly bought a game near then end of my freshmen year in high school for the sole reason there was a "hot elf chick" on the box, I wouldn't have become a total loner sophomore - senior year. (The game was Everquest by the way).
If I never played Everquest I would have never played Counter-Strike like I do, due to friends I made on EQ.
If I never played Counter-Strike like I do, I would have never talked to my girlfriend (who mentioned Counter-Strike to another classmate in class).
If I never worked up the balls to talk to my girlfriend, I would probably have extremely low confidence like I did then.
I used to live right on a bay and one winter the water level dropped a couple meters. We didn't have water for almost 2 months and had to move. We moved to California, my dad got remarried, had 2 kids, his wife went insane and now we are back here. I'm not sure if I'll ever see my little brother and sister again.
Stupid water.

I slacked for 2 years of University got drunk everynight, slept through classes I should have been in, failed a number of exams, all the while having too much fun with drink drugs and loose women and not doing enough work.
If I hadnt done that I might have got a degree and been working in a job I really didnt want.
Instead I lucked out, got sent home and fell into a job that has done nothing but push me forward in life. I am terribly lucky.

My 5th grade band teacher said my front teeth stuck out too much to play the trumpet, and I should play the trombone instead.
That pretty much determined the course of my entire life.

she is pretty great
what if we hadn't walked down crime alley
what if we'd just stayed for the rest of the movie
what if
what if
what if Punisher had become Venom
Maybe that's why my life is so mediocre.
Within the next week or so the population is gonna go up to around 70,000.
I'm gonna be up to my ears in crusty jugglers. And cowboys.
I mean, I don't mean to harp on, but it's been a pretty huge thing in my life.
But since she was a friend of a friend, we probably would have met anyway, so that maybe doesn't count
My life is probably more defined by things that I didn't do than things that I did, because I'm mostly a huge pussy
Your town sounds just like my town.
In fact, a friend of mine managed to finagle me into joining them at the County Rodeo this weekend.
are you the goddamn batman
was that due to helicopter rides?
Amongst other things.
if you're cool with talking about it
i could have been the best at them in the whole world right now
instead i chose to take design in art school
oh well
it hurt like a bitch
i avoided ramming my foot into things without wearing proper protection
I kick myself every day for not talking to her.

the person i ended up helping was an HR manager from BioWare and well that was a contributing factor in me getting my job.
I think I'll quit my job and eat them all day.
I like this post
it is a good post
Man shit like this makes me cringe.....
I get so hung up on the "What if"s
