So, I'm currently rocking a Dell Vostro 1500 and a wireless S510 Logitech keyboard. I'm also using foobar2000, which is relevant because I'm looking for a way to change songs and pause/play using either the media keys on my keyboard or the ones on my Vostro.
Right now, they only work when foobar2000 is the active screen. I can use Windows Media Player and they'll work when it's minimized or in the toolbar, but I like foobar2000 a lot better so I'd love it if I could get it to work with that.
Does anyone have some ideas on how I can accomplish this?
I don't have your fancy, schmancy media keys so I can't test them, but I do have one question: In the Preferences menu, under General->Keyboard Shortcuts, do said keys have the Global Hotkey box checked when you select them? If not, check it for all of them and then save.
As Voro said, just set them as global hotkeys in foobar2000, they are just as hotkeyable as any regular button. I'm not sure how to get rid of the default actions though.

Barring that - yeah, just use them as regular keyboard shortcuts in foobar2000's options.
EDIT: Oh, laptop *and* wireless keyboard. That may complicate things, though I'm not entirely sure how.
