New Speakers

FatmanGamesFatmanGames Registered User regular
I have a couple of older stereos, and I'd like to get some new speakers for them. They're bookshelf / all-in-one type stereos, so nothing super special (although they have the ability to kick out some fairly decent noise).

The problem is that I'm kind of cheap when it comes to getting speakers for a system that I don't care all that much about.

Where should I start looking for some speakers for these systems? I thought of Crutchfield, but I worry that their speakers are overpriced (but I don't know for sure, of course). I also thought of going to the Salvation Army, which is usually a good place for speakers on the cheap, but no luck - no one has been giving up their 1970s stereos.

look on ebay, local garage/lawn sales and any older music or electronic stores if you want some old working ones.

if you want a new set you might just want to get a new system that goes along with them.

you could also try to find some old "cd changers" and just use those speakers
