ta to all those that helped with my mental kitten..... problem is kinda resolved. ive just got used to wakeing up at 4:30. much esyer than reprograming a mental cat

here the new problem

the other cat in my house after introdusing the kitten. has been all jelouse and dosnt relly come near me anymore. 5 days ago i knotesed it was limping and not useing its frount left paw. i tryed to have a look at the paw but the cat just got extramly upset with me. i noticed ther was not relly blood but a bit of "weeping". i told ther owner of the cat and he didnt seem to bothered. ive come back from a weekend away and the cat is still limping. when it wa sasleep i snuck over to it and tryed to take another look. and it looks like it has cut a pad on its foot. but i could only get a look for about half a second before it woke up and went nuts....

i tryed giving it some treats then picking it up like a baby so it was on it back and paw facing me so i could get a better look. but it just clawed my face.

i tryed to speek to the owner againg , and he said het tryed to wash it but the cat got angry. i said had you better take it to the vet. and he basicly said cant be bothered

so what to do. how long does a pad on a paw take to heal?

should i take it to the vet and then have to pay the bill for his cat?

how the hell am i going to get it to the vet if i cant even touch it?

cost?

It'll heal on its own. The cat is already doing what it needs to do to facilitate the process - keeping weight off it (the limping), and I assume it's keeping it clean since cats are clean creatures by nature. I'm curious though, where do you live that you're regularly interacting with a cat that doesn't belong to you?

Well, you could try the towel burrito technique . . . basically, you ambush the cat, and quickly wrap it up in the towel like a burrito, except the limb that you want to examine.

This works when it's time to give my cat a bath. The bigger the cat, the bigger the towel you'll need. Mine is a Maine Coon, so we usually need one or two beach towels...

But if your friend's is of average size, a normal towel should do. Otherwise they'll be able to get their feet and paws out, and scratch you up like crazy...

You could give the local ASPCA or Animal Control a call. In most places, it's illegal to deny an animal necessary medical attention. They probably won't take the cat away, just give its owner a notice to take it to the vet. Poor kitty.
