I would really like to know how the tournament is going down too as I have not practiced any of the bonus songs...
and if they're using them, I should practice.
But if I had to guess what the tournament was going to be, it'd probably be single player matches, and whoever gets the highest score wins as opposed to multiplayer mode. I think I heard also that other tournaments usually start on easy mode and then scale up as more players get eliminated.
Which is pretty cool, really.

I'd hate to be in a situation where both players get 100% of the notes on easy mode but I lost by a little bit because I didn't use star power at the most opportune time.
I think it should just be on expert. Maybe start on hard or something.
I'm excited about competeing in this tourney... but I know I won'tmake it to the end. I can do some songs on expert, but there's no way I'll be able to compete with the big boys.
And I thought I was the cheese when I passed "Bark At the Moon" on hard. I'm just going to get my butt handed to me...right? I just hope I get to play!
In a normal tournament, I would want it normal/easy mode versus, and moving to medium in the second bracket, hard in the next, and expert for the finals.
But that's for normal tourneys, to "give everyone a chance to win." For like a wal-mart or best buy or some crap.
but this is pax. for gamers, by gamers. I would completely understand it being expert mode all the way, versus or even 1p.
I'm hoping for Single Player, expert/medium only (having four different sections would take way too much time. This way, expert players won't end up totally raping beginner to medium players, still giving them a chance to compete, while the expert players won't have to waste their time on songs that aren't necessarily fun for them), best score advances. Songs being picked out of a hat is fine.
I'm pumped as heck for this tournament. I wonder how good everyone there will be. This will be my first time doing versus mode with anyone, I'm excited.

We're still not sure if it's VS mode or not...

Can we get the chemicals in. 'Cause anything's better than this.

Speaking of that, they need to get on those rules.
We're not allowed to use the main thread to talk about rules or chitchat, so might as well use this one to bitch.

Well, thank god that was finally settled.
Now lets settle on a difficulty and how the songs are chosen.

It's pretty definate that Cowboys From Hell or Bark At The Moon will be in the final rounds, at least, I think that would make the most sense.
I wouldn't say that for sure...
both Cowboys From Hell and Bark at the Moon are songs where luck is the biggest factor, in my opinion. Who hit the most notes on the solo, you know, like... five notes as opposed to 4, and who managed to not mess up on the chorus where all you do is strum as fast as you can.

Hey. I've got 5 tiers(other than two songs) 5-starred. I'm not half bad myself.

They'd best start practicing if that be the case!
Anyhoo, I'd guess a song is/will be picked and pairs will play and whoever has more ROCK will be the winner of the pair.
and if they're using them, I should practice.

I wouldn't say that exactly. Cowboys From Hell and Bark at the Moon can be mastered, and I'm pretty close on both of them.
