You know, I often can't listen to my favorite music for too long because it will put me in a mood I don't always want to be in. I get too invested in it.
It's short. Oh my god, I love it when Opera is short.
I don't know how the audience can sit there and watch these ridiculously long shows that I am in. Especially when they're, like, super old. They might not live to see the fat lady sing
Granted, the woman who played Aida was the size of a house. The fat lady was singing from note one

I always wanted to do a YTMND (back when that site didn't suck ass) of "There's a bathroom on the right."
I went to a Modest Mouse Concert on Tuesday, I really enjoy them. It depends on whether or not I'm takin' medication, but some of their songs give me this really wonderfulweird feeling I can't quite describe.

I need to get more of their albums. I love Good News. I think I know the feeling you're talking about.

It really was, I'm glad they did a lot of older stuff. My ears are still ringing. I wish the crowd would've let me hear him talk the few times he did. Did they do the plant thing at your show too?

Like your heart is a banjo and they're plucking at the strings? Anyway, Good News is probably my favorite album, but Moon and Antarctica and Lonesome Crowded West are both very good.
I wouldn't hold out much hope for the tape deck, though.
Or the Creedence.
Anyways, Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chili Peppers is a really varied album that I can put on at anytime. No matter what mood I'm in, there's a track to match it. Then it'll go to the next track and the mood changes and I suddenly feel better.
I love all their works, but when they went on a one-year hiatus (which may lead to a breakup), I didn't mind because I don't feel they can top Stadium and if they feel they can't either, I'd rather them not drag on like other bands do.
I really want to see Modest Mouse and also The Flaming Lips in concert. The Flaming Lips probably more because I hear their stage show is just crazy awesome.

i dunno, i think RHCP is a bit like our generation's Rolling Stones.
they're not like the Stones, but considering their success and their consistently good albums (and their longevity AND their mythical drug use) they're pretty much analogous.
the wiki article for the Peppers seems to indicate they do already have some framework for the next album after whatever hiatus finishes up.
but the rest of their stuff is just so mediocre and people lose their fucking minds over them and say shit like John Frushiante is the best guitarist in the world and he plays like 4 note crochet arpeggio solos!

RHCP are like Vishnu. They keep coming back in new and different forms to be awesome.
Except for One Hot Minute. But otherwise, yes.
Still, I'm wary about the band's future. Apparently they nearly had a breakup after By the Way, as that was pretty much Frusciante's album stylistically (listen to Frusciante's solo stuff and you can tell) and the rest of the band felt they didn't have enough input. Though I know they were pretty much unanimous about everything on Stadium (except for "Hump de Bump" which everyone but Flea hated), so who knows.

I respectfully disagree. The Chili Peppers are my favorite band, and I've heard bashings from people far more vocal about it. I can see why people would hate them; I don't, however.

If I'm sad then my favorite music makes me sadder but eventually cheers me up
If I'm bored then my favorite music (hopefully) makes me less bored and pumps me the fuck up

Steely Dan, Kansas, only a little Lynyrd Skynyrd unfortunately. Stones, Steve Miller Band.

I saw them last summer. It was a kickass show.
Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
At least in my, albeit limited, opera experience.
