So, the other day when I tried to hibernate my Windows XP computer, it gave me some kind of error message like "There are not enough system resources to hibernate" or something like that - I don't exactly remember. Now, there isn't the option to hibernate anymore, and when I go to the "Power Options" section of the control panel, the "Hibernate" tab that used to be there isn't there anymore, so I don't even have to option to enable or disable hibernation. I have no idea what's going on - I have plenty of RAM and plenty of disk space, and I have no idea what that error message meant. Windows help was no use. Has anybody else had this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks!
Have you tried a system restore to before the last time you tried to hibernate?

This is actually something that can happen with SP2 and I got this repeatedly with my laptop. Here's the MS knowledgebase article for it and available hotfixes for it. I found that installing SP3 sans hotfix also eliminates the issue.
