Dirt or Grid? PS3

I need some help deciding. I've got a logitech Force Ex wheel and I love me some arcade/sim-ish racing fun. I've played the demos of both of these but I simply cannot get a handle on which I'd rather purchase.

Can anyone say anything for or against either title? What's the variety of tracks like on each? I'm loving the sheer number of cars on track in Grid but there's something about the handling I'm not sure I'm keen on.

Advice/opinions please!

I am a big fan of Grid, but you need to realize that the actual game has a TON of different types of races. If you're not sure on the handling on the muscle cars there are two other circuits you can race in that have a lot different style of racing.

Why haven't I gone back and finished all those races that game rocks.

    GT5 Prologue.

Seriously. I can't believe people bitched about how GT5 Prologue was a "demo" and Grid sold at full price.

But yeah, Grid is basically Dirt 1.5, so probably Grid would be the right choice.

DiRT is quite lacking in overall track variety, as its solely focused on Rally/Off-Road courses. I find the handling in both games to feel similar, which makes sense given that the engines and developer are the same. I actually love both games, but for pure variety GRiD is the winner.

Love and own both Grid and Dirt, the only thing that throws me off of Grid is that yea, the handling is a big 'off'. The only thing that comes to mind is that in Dirt you generally get used to the fact that 'Oh all these cars handle this way' and you adapt to it through the whole game - while in Grid eat different type of race or car has a different form of handling.

Both great games though so uh....good luck! :P

It's been well and truly played through but I fancied something a bit more arcadey. Is there actual rally driving in Grid or is it strictly tarmac/track/street?

The kid in me just wants to tear round some muddy tight tracks and go over unstable terrain jumping everywhere :)

If there's no rallying I'll probably have to accept I'll end up buying both games.

Thanks for the opinions thus far folks, keep 'em coming!

I liked DiRT but couldn't stand GRID, mostly because of the aforementioned handling (not sim, but too loose and slippery for a straight-up arcade title), but also because the AI drivers were homicidal maniacs. DiRT has just you against the clock for most of the races, so it's not as big an issue there.
