Hello there, folks.

Very very very longtime reader but I decided to finally make the jump to the boards since my buddy and I will be making our way to PAX this year half business/half geek pleasure and were just wondering how the vibe is after hours in that area?

We're flying from Los Angeles and staying at the Renaissance since it was cheaper to book a package than accommodations and flights separate.

One of our main goals is to get to talk to exhibitors and developers but I don't know how accessible those guys are at PAX as opposed to something like E3.

BUT...in the end. We just want to have a great time so I was wondering if there were any parties going on during those days? Do any developers or publishers throw any small shindigs that people, hopefully 21+, are able to attend? Attendee parties? Hell, I'd love to get my LAN on in hotel rooms after the show closes.

They are VERY accessable. The booths have several volunteers each who are all about answering questions. Last year there were two great after hours parties 21+, but I'm not sure who was the actual sponsors... I believe they were industry hosted though.

as tycho has explained multiple times in the past, pax is made for gamers, by gamers. exhibitors know this. he's explained that exhibitors are instructed that they're present for us, not for other companies, like in e3. knowing this, i've had great experiences talking with the industry professionals at the booths in the past (except the rockstar people, they were kinda tools).
