    I have some 5-htp in the medicine cabinet from when I used to do things that altered my seritonin levels, but I don't think it's the same thing.

    Someone with a background in amino acids educate me better than Wikipedia can.

    Basically your body processes it from tryptophan - > 5HTP -> serotonin

    5HTP is just one step further
