I've noticed no differences in playing games on vista/xp
I've had them both installed on this system with the exact same components and for instance TF2 runs exactly the same on both
not that I'm trying to urge everyone to run out and buy vista, I just don't see where the whole 'XP is better for games!' thing comes from
I was really only making an assumption based off of what I'd heard about Vista being requiring more RAM and stuff to run the same game. Only times I ever really had problems was when I was running Vista Business, and it could have been my computer but holy shit I had problems even getting some games installed. I have a new laptop now and Vista Ultimate and everything works fine.
Except for TF2! I don't know why, but it has been lagging for some reason when I tried playing it on my computer. The thing is, I am running it off of a USB 2.0 external hard drive, and I would think that is the problem, but I can run games like Mass Effect and Bioshock off of it at max settings with little to no lag, and yet TF2 was chugging at medium settings.
(The above was more a general rant about my computer than Vista)
only thing that comes to mind is that mass effect and bioshock are both single player endeavors while tf2 is primarily mutliplayer.
Have you tried any other Steam games? Does HL2 have the same problem for example?
maybe drive fragmentation? :P
also vista is awesome.. if your PC is right for it.
1 GB Ram can be annoying, but a core 2 duo with >= 2GB RAM makes it a pleasant experience

That is rocketdock. There are a million things like it, I just happen to use this one, and you can customize them with whatever icons you want. The Litho icon pack is my favorite (using it for the thunderbird and settings icons,) I need to switch the rest out with it. and the blank grey one is a stack's docklet that is pretty cool but resets back to blank every time I restart my computer. Basically you click that one and a bunch of other icons pop out of it.
great just link to wikipedia i'm not reading that crap

OCEAN CURRENTS CONTROL THE WORLD'S WEATHER SYSTEM AND CONVEY VITAL NUTRIENTS TO VARIOUS AREAS IN THE WORLD'S OCEANS! ANIMALS USE THESE POWERFUL CURRENTS, SUCH AS THE FAMOUS GULF STREAM, FOR MIGRATION, AND WITHOUT THESE CURRENTS THE PLANET WOULD BE STUPID-FUCKED.

Says its not supported, think I may try it anyway to see how bad it fucks up.
Also, anyone know if there are any apps similar to rocketdock that support 64bit vista?

In theory. But, in theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.
Me too. I'm proud of myself for inspiring it : )
