Savage was a beast of games that never got the glory it deserved and now savage 2 is out. It has a 5 hour demo of nearly full game play so all you who have never heard of savage or were weary of paying for it, heres a chance to try the awesome that is Savage 2.
For those of your who don't know, Savage 2 is a game designed to incorporated RTS styles with first and third person combat. The idea is its an RTS games where all the individual units are controlled by individual players each with their own powers.
I am making this post for a lack of traffic on savage 2's servers so check it out there are always a few full servers but not enough player variety to be a true player pool.
EDIT: Savage 2 is an indie game that requires the attention of the community in order to be seen, you will not see adds on websites or commercials for their games but that does not mean it is low of quality. Check out the game for the love of games
Before I hit the "report thread" button, I want to weigh in with my own two cents: #1, I *have* seen ads for this game on other websites, which is what compelled me to download the above-mentioned demo. I really enjoyed the tutorial and the single-player practice. The experience fell apart for me, however, when I actually logged in, as latency made the game nigh unplayable. My limited interaction with the community was also fairly crumby, as well, but I bet its one of those things where it's fun if you can persuade 20 of your friends to also buy the game so you can play on the same team together consistently.
I played a whoole lot of savage 1 and thought was fantastic. I haven't tried 2 though. It's a really cool idea.. I'm at CyrixD's house right now... I may have us d/l the demo. Update tomorrow.
I have Savage 2 but haven't played for a while. Mainly it was because they split vets from newbs, and I was one of the first vets, which meant I had no people to play with. I assume it's better now.
Something the OP should have mentioned is that from July 21-July 28 it will be free to play with no restrictions. Eh, I may make a game on thread for that when it's closer to that date.
FWIW, Savage 1 is amazing if you live in a dorm and are able to split your entire floor up into two teams. Don't even bother with headsets, just do it on a weekend and yell out the doors.
I love my dorm.
edit: Woah, the balance looks really off right about now. Humans only have 43% of the wins? Bwa?
That's better than yesterday I think. It was 42% or so. Devs said they're working on fixing the balance, but people on the forums say that it's more 'cause the good players are stacking beasts.
Beasts were usually stacked by good players in Savage 1 as well, though the awesome K : D ratios were on the human side (relocators and medkits = really hard to kill)
I haven't had any bad latency issues maybe they fixed it from when you tried it. Also try avoiding the eu servers, may help.
The balance issues are definitely based on the fact that the experienced players seem to prefer beast and yes in savage 1 med kits + relocaters were the reason people would go 62-1.
The game is great and a full version for demo accounts has become available for a short time to those who want to try out the full perks, which really isn't much
Posts
It's more likely than you think.
You registered today, and 2/3 of your posts deal with this game. Also, nice link, Brokey McBrokerton.
Can trade TF2 items or whatever else you're interested in. PM me.
If you can get past the latency issues.
And you probably can't.
Buyer beware.
