The new forums will be named Coin Return (based on the most recent vote)! You can check on the status and timeline of the transition to the new forums here.
The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
* Pub: Activision, Dev: Raven Software/ID Software
* Takes place in WWII against Nazi's fully dabbling in the occult
* BJ (the hero) will also make use of supernatural powers.
* Game gives you a city in which the game takes place. Missions and quests take you through different parts. As you complete quests, more of the city opens up. Kind of a non-linear path.
* Set piece and randomly generated activity block your path.
* There is an AI resistance force that will assist you during the game at times. Think of the resistance forces in MGS4 I guess?
* You will also enter "The Shroud", an alternate reality version of the city. A dimension in which the Nazi's are drawing power from.
Screens wise, it looks like a very nice looking game. I'm particularly impressed by the lighting in the game. It looks very good. I'm sure scans will show up somewhere soon for everyone to see (now, that's not a hint that I'm scanning it. I'm not).
Seriously though, how do you make a nonlinear wolfenstein game? There's a very clear story structure: Fighting Nazis -> Foreshadowing -> Fighting Demons -> Beat Demons -> Beat Nazis.
The last two are interchangeable, but that's about it.
In Bioshock special powers kind of made sense, and you're a bit reluctant to stick that big ol' needle in your arm, but you are completely alone and you have to size up to the competition. I'd rather use guns to kill Nazis and demons and Nazi demons.
Ah, good old Raven "mediocrity is our trademark" Software. Can't say I'm terribly excited about this, I mean, their last good game was what, Hexxen?
HeXen.
Also, what the hell are you talking about? Star Trek Elite Force? Jedi Outcast? Soldier of Fortune? X-Men Legends? Marvel Ultimate Alliance?
Seriously, post fails.
Also, I guess I'm the only one allowed to be somewhat excited about this. Shooting Nazis can only be made better by shooting Nazis infused with occult boogie-boogies, and the suggestions of non-linearity sound kinda cool.

Screenshots from the magazine also have flying aliens. That most definitely do not look like nazis. They're like giant head things.

We all knew it was coming, but I'm still happy it was sooner rather than later.
Whatever one can say about RtCW, it led to Enemy Territory for free. No matter what mutant game elements it throws into the next installment, I cut the series extra slack for that alone.
Not to say I wouldn't mind the campaign shedding instant-fail stealth sequences, for one, but with Wolfenstein I'm willing to roll with it and see what happens for now.

Yes.
Supernatural powers?
Chaingun? Yes. Also, please to be fighting the Hitler again.
Alternate universe
Player gets supernatural powers
randomly generated content
It just gets worse and worse as you read on

The thread is just someone summarizing gameinformer. They do get a lot of exclusives, so I'm inclined to believe that it's relatively trustworthy.
EDIT: anyway, they're supposed to show it at e3, so we only have to wait a few days to get confirmation
Yes. Uploading a picture of the GI cover right now.
Haha, what. The picture from my camera was only 324kb, and somehow it got BEEFIER
I never asked for this!
The last man to make light of that is being kicked in this photo by one BJ Blazkowicz

Wolfenstein is pretty complicated after all

Also Raven Software aren't that bad.
