Jakk Flash Appreciation Thread

TubeTube Registered User admin
edited July 2008 in Social Entropy++
This is a thread to celebrate the greatest band in the world, Jakk Flash. Note that no part of their act is ironic.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zjJyKVk0DRw

http://www.myspace.com/jakkflash

Here is their myspace with more awesome tunes, and more (I swear, completely unironic) pictures of them wearing clothes that they appear to be wearing deliberately!

Starring Toby "Tobias" Diggins, a man who had a song to sing. A song about Blue Jeans, and about his b-b-b-b-baby. A song about it being 12 o clock and being off the job. A song that needed to be sang. A man of bravery and courage, the courage to wear a sleeveless t shirt and occasionally go topless onstage despite a physique that, if I had such a physique, would leave me unwilling to take my shirt off even in the shower.

I will remind you once again that not the slightest part of their act is a joke or ironic in any way.

Marvel.

Although some would say that the second time you posted that was redundant, I would disagree. I needed to be told multiple times that this was not intended as a joke, because my brain rejected that information about 30 seconds in.

I will remind you again that they are being deadly serious and they are wearing those clothes and singing those songs deliberately and with malice of forethought.

That guy looks in the mirror every day and goes "yes. that is the look for me"

If you can believe this, he actually looks significantly more preposterous in real life.

JakkFlash?.. Raised on a strict diet of classic rock, 80's hair metal and modern alt-rock, JakkFlash are a band that continually strive to push boundaries and bring back a sense of song-writing sophistication to their culture, scene and genre... Formed in 2005, this young London-based rock act have already toured extensively within the U.K. and even headlined their own 2 hour shows out in Europe! Taking heavy influence from the 70's/80's classic rock titans that promoted the fine art of musianship and songwriting, and then fusing it into a modern commercial context, it seems that finally there is an act that aren't afraid to break free from past nor the present... Driven and determined to make timeless music that should only be appreciated, and never out-dated, JakkFlash are taking no prisoners on their way up the golden ladder of great music... So put your fist in the air, now its time to ROCK.......................................................

I especially love the way he holds the mic. Pinching it delicately between his thumb and index, rest of his hand splayed out, like he's sipping from a fine china cup.

Tube you've stressed that they're serious so much now that my instinct is to believe you, rather than think you're just making fun of anyone who thinks they are.

And it hurts me, and I need you to tell me the truth now.

Because that was the worst ever.
