Everybody wants Barack to wind a piece of string around
Posts
I don't mean to be the dude defending this idiots, really
But I think they mean it in much broader terms than "barack obama will systemically destroy a race" and are more indicating that they see malice beneath apparent charisma
They're still stupid but still
black hitler
I at least stand a chance because I imagine I can pull off a very convincing blackface.
No, I totally get that.
I am a big fan of playing "Devil's Advocate" to kind of see where people are coming from, even I believe they are wrong.
Even I have stopped several time and thought that Barrack really does seem far too good to be true sometimes.
Besides just a gut feeling of "If this guy is insincere it could spell trouble," is there any other evidence or hypothesis as to exactly what kind of malice might reside within him. Like are they afraid of a specific agenda or just hiding behind vague reasons for disliking him because there is a conspicuous lack of dirt on the guy that could actually stick?
a man needs his balls to bang his wife
reminds me why I spend 14 hours a day in Excel
There is a very good possibility that in a very short time "the man" is going to be a mixed-race, dark-skinned man who grew up under a single mother with his half-siblings of other mixed-races. A man who's father was an immigrant and who spent some of his childhood going to school in foreign countries.
And I get to vote for him. I get to use the same registration that I used 4 years ago to write-in John McCain's name onto a ballot that gave me the option of Bush or Kerry and I can check off that I would like my representative in the electoral college to vote for Barrack Obama.
It's something that kind of lifts my spirits whenever I think about it.
And to think that without the help of George W. Bush and his cabinet and their decisions over the last 8 years we may not have seen this happen for decades to come. Without those poor decisions, shady and underhanded dealings by the GOP, without the increased cynicism and political polarization of the American people and without the kind of ignorance that perpetuates a "stay-the-course" mentality in the face of unwinnable odds, this country probably would never have the balls to break a 230+year tradition of electing older, white males into leadership and take a chance with a young, mostly-inexperienced man who could not be further from the presidential archetype we've grown accustomed to.
I like John McCain as a person. I think he is as sincere a man as he claims. I would love to go to one of his mansions, crack open some Sam Adams or other fine, domestic brew and ask him to tell me war stories or discuss historical events with him. He is like a kindly old grandfather that you know has seen some shit in his past that he will never tell you about. I just don't want him being the political figurehead of my country for the same reason I would never want my own grandfathers to drive my car.
McCain's been around. He has experience, but he's also pretty set in his ways. He's a proverbial old dog who has no interest in new tricks.
Obama's weakness is that he has comparatively little political experience but he's much more open-minded. He lives in the same modern world as the rest of us and is much better-able to adapt.
Carpet nuke the USSR with two A-bombs? Because that was the entirety of the U.S. nuclear force at the time.
I think it's more that there seem to be a lot of people that support Obama for reasons that have nothing to do with his politics.
they coulda made more while russia was invading japan
like, thousands more
I'm sure that in your time plutonium is available at every corner drug store but in 1945 it was a little hard to come by.

I thought that was the good senator from Alaska?
it's not like someone his age can't learn something new
it's that he doesn't seem to want to
it's probably time for a 21st century president, ya know
W said during a debate or some news thing "I heard there were rumors...on the internets".
Internets...plural. Like there are multiple webs of intertrons strung about the cyberspaces, or perhaps each website is its own personal internet. I'm not quite sure.
