Oh yeah, and no side-scrolling on the PSP? What, is the screen too wide?

Clearly, PSP gamers, being "mature, more hardcore of gamer," don't have time for no shitty platformers.

That's what I thought he was getting at... but man, I could picture such a cool 3D 2D side-scroller Duke Nukem, similar to New Super Mario Brothers.

    but with Duke Nukem

Isn't that what they started with?

    That wasn't a trailer.

That was a work of art.

This needs to be a permanent display at the lourve. Huge HD TV, massive speakers, laser light show - it is a testament to the achievements of our time. Our children and our chidlren's children need to see it.
I love the one picture of duke they have flying around with a lame effect coming out the front of the gun.

I think I can make a case for it too:

The trailer exhibits a very clear ironic use of the traditional minimalistic style, as well as a comment on the cultural aspects of the time. The repetition clearly shows reference to artists such as Phillip Glass, in that while direct repetition is used at points, the changes are often too subtle for the user to notice, and indeed when there are direct repetitions, merely their placement and juxtaposition as direct repetitions clearly differentiates them from the other parts of the "trailer". The work also uses stock images and a musical motif taken from the popular website "youtube", clearly grounding the work in the culture of the time, examining the popularity of the franchise which the work is referencing, as well as its seating in the "gaming culture" as a franchise that is traditionally built on the less mature, perhaps even the primal, sides of the gamers, in an obviously Brecht inspired self-critical nature, as well as very clearly placing the work as a product of the culture and of the age. In fact the trailer, simply by being art, seeks to draw attention to the medium, in such a way that using Google Image Search, a score created by an unknown(to the developer) source, and utilizing the repetition of the name of the franchise and the individual parts, so as to note the ever-expanding field of what can be considered artistic, as well as pressuring the medium in general to continue to progress, and not remain stuck in a strict form of what used to be art. In conclusion, the piece is clearly a very Postmodern minimalistic comment not only on art itself, but also on Society.

Honestly, if the "Duke Nukem Trilogy" they released on the DS was just a collection of remakes (or, shit, ports) of Duke Nukem 1, 2, and Manhattan Project, I'd be ecstatic.

Throw in the Commander Keens, BioMenace 1-3, Halloween Harry and Monster Bash and you might well have the greatest thing ever.

In fact want you all to think of a Apogee collection cart if it contained the following:

    Duke Nukem Trilogy
    Major Stryker
    Monster Bash
    Rise of the Triad
    Commander Keen Collection
    Wolfenstein 3D
    Halloween Harry
    Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
    Hocus Pocus
    Raptor: Call of the Shadows
    Wacky Wheels
    Descent
    Secret Agent

Because Apogee used to release some fantastic stuff.

L M A O to the moon! They know lots of people view the Duke as a joke, so why not eff around with it. Honestly though, you could put footage of a camel shitting at a corner store to the Duke Nukem theme and it would instantly become awesome.

You know what I probably could justify that being art by referencing Dada too.

Thank you the time I spent as a Composition major at Oberlin Conservatory back when it was cool.

Descent is Interplay/Volition/Parallax. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's coming anytime soon. They are working on Earthworm Jim (supposedly) right now. Hopefully, we'll see Descent and Freespace return. Though someone (madcatz) needs to make an awesome PC flight stick first. Then again, I played Descent 1 and partway through 2 using the numpad and a trackball before I got my PantherXL stick.
