Duke Nukem Trilogy - Greatest Trailer of E3

Isn't that what they started with?
I think I can make a case for it too:
The trailer exhibits a very clear ironic use of the traditional minimalistic style, as well as a comment on the cultural aspects of the time. The repetition clearly shows reference to artists such as Phillip Glass, in that while direct repetition is used at points, the changes are often too subtle for the user to notice, and indeed when there are direct repetitions, merely their placement and juxtaposition as direct repetitions clearly differentiates them from the other parts of the "trailer". The work also uses stock images and a musical motif taken from the popular website "youtube", clearly grounding the work in the culture of the time, examining the popularity of the franchise which the work is referencing, as well as its seating in the "gaming culture" as a franchise that is traditionally built on the less mature, perhaps even the primal, sides of the gamers, in an obviously Brecht inspired self-critical nature, as well as very clearly placing the work as a product of the culture and of the age. In fact the trailer, simply by being art, seeks to draw attention to the medium, in such a way that using Google Image Search, a score created by an unknown(to the developer) source, and utilizing the repetition of the name of the franchise and the individual parts, so as to note the ever-expanding field of what can be considered artistic, as well as pressuring the medium in general to continue to progress, and not remain stuck in a strict form of what used to be art. In conclusion, the piece is clearly a very Postmodern minimalistic comment not only on art itself, but also on Society.
edit: like the one before this post
Throw in the Commander Keens, BioMenace 1-3, Halloween Harry and Monster Bash and you might well have the greatest thing ever.
In fact want you all to think of a Apogee collection cart if it contained the following:
Duke Nukem Trilogy
Major Stryker
Monster Bash
Rise of the Triad
Commander Keen Collection
Wolfenstein 3D
Halloween Harry
Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold
Hocus Pocus
Raptor: Call of the Shadows
Wacky Wheels
Descent
Secret Agent
Because Apogee used to release some fantastic stuff.
Snowballs in peril! Action/Puzzle = Snowball's Chance E1 (it's free now!)
You know what I probably could justify that being art by referencing Dada too.
Thank you the time I spent as a Composition major at Oberlin Conservatory back when it was cool.
Also that would be awesome and needs to be made.
Also fucking ToTP bitch whore cuntbag.
I would buy without hesitation any console or handheld for which the entire Keen series was available. It needs to be done!
You're forgetting Bio Menace.
You know though, you're right a package deal would be fucking awesome on the PSP, like the Capcom Classics Collection or the Sega one. I'd buy that bitch!
Seriously, though, what the fuck 3DR? Is this for real? Did they just troll the whole world?

Hey, I take it in the same regard as the God of War 3 trailer. This had more substance, though.
Never change, 3D Realms. I love you guys.
I never asked for this!
It feels funny (sad?) that my entire formative gaming years could be so succinctly packaged into a cart, but there you have it.
edit: I swear, this and that Conduit-trailer has made me realized just how raped the common gamer is. IT'S NOT RAPE UNTIL WE SAY NO!

EDIT: Also watching it in HD BITCHESSZ!!
Fucking A, that right there is my Windows95 gaming days.
Speaking of which, where the balls is a new Descent? I haven't vomited while playing a game in FAR too long!
Greatest trailer.
Yeah! Descent always made you feel sick to the stomach. Descent and Wing Commander III (my first PC game).
Descent is Interplay/Volition/Parallax. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it's coming anytime soon. They are working on Earthworm Jim (supposedly) right now. Hopefully, we'll see Descent and Freespace return. Though someone (madcatz) needs to make an awesome PC flight stick first. Then again, I played Descent 1 and partway through 2 using the numpad and a trackball before I got my PantherXL stick.
