So, my Xbox 360 is probably going to die in a few days (intermittent RROD, which disappears after letting it 'cool down').
We have another Xbox which no one uses, and I'd probably get that whilst my Xbox is sent off to be fixed. I'd probably also put my own HD into it, and use my account etc.
The thing is, it's my birthday this weekend, and so I'm planning to get some Marketplace Points and a 12-Month Card for Live. The question really is, if I bought some stuff off the Marketplace with the Card, would I be allowed to use these in my Xbox when it comes back as long as I have the HD they were bought on?
Is there a limit on how many 'licenses'? As in, if I had to then send the console away again (which is likely, having heard the track record of refurbs), would I have another license to use?
HOnestly I have no idea but I've gone htrough three 360s each with different hard drives and I've been able to use stuff I purchased on my original 360 no problem. However, there are certainly more knowledgable people than me on this forum so I'd wait till they tell you what is what before doing anyhting, really don't want to be wrong and this and end up costig you a fortune.
If you stay signed into Live, the content will work / be viewable on any Xbox. So say, you buy the content on Xbox B. If you unplug Xbox B from Live, the content is still there. However, if you download the content to Xbox A, and then unplug it from Live, the content won't be usable/viewable until you sign into Live.
By using the Transfer Tool, the content will be usable/viewable on Xbox A after unplugging it from Live.

To be able to use the content offline after you get the Xbox fixed, you will need to use the License Transfer Tool
Sorry to be such a hassle.
Thanks so far.
