Each year, PAX is becoming more and more respected as a game show. Lately, PAX has been making its way to the Gamefaqs.com daily poll. Today's is the best yet:

What did you think of this year's E3?

Great show, I'm looking forward to all the games
Good show, some interesting news and good games
It was okay, could've been better
Bad show, no interesting news, no big surprises
Yawn! Wake me when it's time for PAX

That's just Gamespot's why to try and worm their way back into our hearts after the whole Gerstmann fiasco.

Funny thing is, if the PA news post mentioned that poll, it would be PAX at 90% in less than a day.

well, they're already at almost 7,000 votes in an hour and 17 minutes, i don't think that many people read the news postings. but it would turn the tides a bit. too many e3 loving kids won't vote unkindly about their precious crapvention, though.

Apparently you're not familiar with the level of traffic that PA newpost-linked items get. It's called getting 'wanged' and is comparable to being Slashdotted. PA newsposts bring sites down.

I think in this day and age wanging and getting a digg attack are where the most dmg come from. Slashdot is a relic of the days of yore.

I still read slashdot all the time, and it still does take websites down. One or two a day on average.

yeah, but they're a cnet site, they've never been down in the many years i've been a regular.

    current poll stands at:

It was okay, could've been better 33.42%
Yawn! Wake me when it's time for PAX 12.1%

you guys are forgetting about getting farked. I'd say getting farked and dugg are the biggest destroyers of sites. Wanging and slashdotting do a fair bit of damage too, though.

I used to be quite the Farker back in 2001-2, but somehow it seemed to get kind of lame round about 2003 and I haven't been back.

dyaballikl: I'm not suggesting that CNET would go down, just that the newpost does get read a lot and does generate enough traffic to take down smaller sites.
