The GCN Custom Robo was pretty neat, but I don't know if I'd be into getting another one unless they really overhauled the aesthetics. As for Animal Crossing, my little sister is going to get it and I might play some, but I'm not hugely interested.

Comments like these remind me of fan reactions to Metroid Prime Pinball.

It's a spinoff. Both can exist alongside each other.

Has anything cool come out between July and now that I should know about, or are we all still waiting on Dangerous Creatures and Mad World?

Didn't the new Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World come out last week? I should pick that up.

De Blob was one of the best things to hit the Wii from a third party. That is more than worth a look.

Also Castlevania Judgement is more fun than you'd think....plus it has online play. It seems to make more sense to me than a FF fighter...which I'll try but also seems wierd.

But if Castlevania works...why not Final Fantasy. :P

maybe boom blox, de blob, call of duty: WaW, animal crossing, monster lab, dokapon kingdom...

that's all that comes to mind. Deadly Creatures comes out next month.

I've been following the VC pretty well, since it was only the Disc Drive that died, not the Hard Drive, but I didn't want to invest in World of Goo or Megaman 9 before I sent it in, on the odd chance that...drastic measures had to be taken. I'll probably at least get World of Goo, given I've heard nothing but cheers of genius for the game.

I'll get de Blob then. The Matt Cassamassassassasina review was quite compelling.

I was only speaking of the newer games, ones added since July.

Some of the older ones are great too, like Toki Tori, Lost Winds, and FF CC: MLAaK

Picked up Dokapon Kingdom on a whim (for $20, why not?). Had a blast playing this weekend with friends.

Though I think we broke the game a bit when my Darkling friend tried to strike me and I choose counter because I figured it didn't matter, and ended up with the way over-powered crown that ups stats by 200-300 and summons monsters to opposing players towns. So yeah, if you're a Darkling, don't choose Strike, ever.

Also finally got to check out World of Goo. Damn fine game, and everyone should buy it.

Dokapon is amazing. Every single person I have shown it to (gamer friends, non-gamer friends, girlfriend) loves it. As in, they take up all my time that I want to play other games in order to play it with me.

    Yes, this.

Really the only "gamer" requirement is a basic knowledge of the general RPG crap (HP, AT, DF, etc).

Though pay heed to the back of the box, for the game does indeed destroy friendships, at least temporarily.

Yeah, this is the kind of game I'd love to play online.

Unfortunately, the single player just fills in remaining slots with CPUs (you can choose to play vs 1, 2, or 3 of them), and the CPU players cheat like all get out. Perfect rolls, etc.

They aren't cheating; the rolls are skill-based, kind of like the judgement ring in Shadow Hearts:Covenant. Just a matter of pressing the button to make the spinner stop where you want it to.

But, yeah, the AI tends to be really skilled at that. As well it should be.

Well, the AI is naturally skilled at it, I suppose.

The spin is a bit too fast for the players to make up for that advantage, I think. Maybe you could possibly get it down to the quadrant where you want the spin to stop.

Unless you channel the speed force, in which case nevermind.

that could very well be wrong. I think I'm gonna wait for a statement. In all of the interviews I've read, they seem to make it very clear that the game is on track for a december released. They already delayed it once, after all.
